Beta Test Page

We use this page to test out upcoming enhancements to the site before we launch them to the public. You’re free to try out this page (we’d encourage you to do so now you’re here). All we ask is that you forgive any errors you might find (because we’re still debugging things) and you report those errors to us using the intel report, which you can find HERE (opens in a new window).

New Hotel Map Using OpenStreetMap

We’re currently testing a new map. This version delivers all of the same key functionality as our existing map (e.g. you can search by your location, search by a specific city or postcode, zoom in/out, pan around, etc.). The main difference is it uses OpenStreetMap to display the map and hotel pins, rather than Google Maps. Because it doesn’t use Google Maps we can’t display thumbnails of the hotel using Google Street View. That’s the only real difference (that, and OpenStreetMap is free to use). Everything else you see should be pretty much the same. So, please try the new map and let us know what you think using THIS form.

Why are we doing this? Well, much as we think Google Maps and Google Street View are absolutely awesome, they charge us every time we use their data. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it starts to get prohibitively expensive for a small site like ours and the large number of users we have.

When you search our map, we make a series of calls to Google APIs (Application Programming Interface) on your behalf. Google then charge us for this. For example, in the last 7 days (to 13 August 2025) we incurred API charges of over £200. Unfortunately we can’t sustain that, especially if the site continues to grow, and we really want to continue to support our users.

Please Try Our New Forum

To create more of a community and to facilitate knowledge sharing, we’ve just launched out new Forum.

Here you can connect with others, report intelligence on new migrant accommodation locations, discuss the latest news and political developments, report issues with the site, and request new features.

You can find the Forum by clicking HERE or just use the “Forum” link at the top of this page. It’s completely free.

Please let us know what you think (you can use the Forum for that, too).

Website Search

We’re currently testing two versions of search to enable users to better-find content on the site. The first is provided by Elementor. The second by Google. Please let us know what you think?

Share Us On Social Media

One of the main objectives of this site is to inform the public about locations being used to house migrants in their area. The sites are not classified or officially secret, but the government refuses to publish an official list of them. We believe the people paying for these facilities have a right to know where they are.

Please help create this transparency by sharing a link to this site on your socials. All you need to do is click on the relevant link(s) above.
